Felix Burrows Music Residency

The Felix Burrows Music Residency is a twice-yearly, three-month residency opportunity that provides a fully-equipped studio space at Goolugatup Heathcote. Thanks to the Felix Culpa Fund and the Fremantle Foundation, each residency is supported by a fee of $5,000 for the artist in residence.

The program is named in recognition and remembrance of Felix Burrows, a beloved local musician and artist who played in bands such as The Feast of Snakes and Darling Rangers. The residency pays tribute to the legacy and creativity of this generous, energetic and widely-loved local artist.

During EOI periods, Goolugatup Heathcote invites expressions of interest from WA musicians, songwriters, composers, producers – anyone working in the field of music. The program welcomes applications from artists of any kind, whether emerging or established.

Please note:
-The residency is designed for individuals, not groups, though collaborative activity is welcome.
-The program aims to foster creative practices, and as such, is geared towards original music. However, artists working creatively with existing compositions (as is especially common in jazz, classical and traditional folk contexts) are very welcome to apply.
