The Gyinning Residency serves as a laboratory to transition my theoretical “Atmospheric Politics” research into multi-media installation. I will utilize the studio to trial a series of latex sculptures integrated with sensor-driven pneumatic systems and Arduino. Programmed to mimic biological rhythms, these forms act as “metabolic agents,” translating environmental factors into physical expansions and contractions. In addition, I will experiment with a speculative video methodology on emergency airplane videos with collaging of archival and local western australian contemporary footages.

I am an interdisciplinary artist (b. Hong Kong). My work investigates migration, collective anxiety, and the dissonance between lived reality and imposed narratives through latex casting, ceramic, time-based media, and participatory installations. I also propose forms of collective re-imagination through a collaborative research methodology. I am holding an MFA in Public Art from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and a BSc in Neuroscience. My current research examines inflation as both a material process and a socio-economic metaphor. Informed by theories of atmospheric manipulation and globalization, I analyze how air is weaponized to construct authority.
