Kristen Brownfield is an artist from Boorloo/Perth, Western Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) from Edith Cowan University and a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art, Honours) from RMIT University. Her practice centres on noticing, listening, and forming connections, as a way to make sense of the world. Working mostly with found objects, photography, sound, writing and drawing, Kristen explores relationships to materials, time and perception, and the entanglement of people, other forms of life, and environments. Recent exhibitions and projects include an invitation to dance (Cool Change/PS Art Space), remember the blue sky (DADAA Gallery), repackaged (Pig Melon) and New Bayswater POST Artist in Residence. Alongside her practice, she works in the arts in project coordination, facilitation and support roles.
