Praashekh Borkar (Praaz) is a renowned Indian classical musician originally trained in the Hindustani instrument the Sarod. Performing now for over 27 years, he is also known globally for his own invention – the “Esarod”, a combination of the electric guitar and the sarod. For Goolugatup Sounds 22, Praashekh will also be performing with a newly developed instrument named “Praazarod.”

Taking the form of a mercurial collective with Praashekh at its core, Praaz forges a unique, globally-minded musical style unbound to any one genre or culture. Performing original compositions by the bandleader, the multi-talented members of Praaz bring a wealth of experience and musical diversity to the stage: Praashekh on Esarod and Praazarod, Tao on Drums, Isuru on Tabla and percussion, Flavio on keys and Nishanth on bass.

Montana (@monteaubeurre) is a Boorloo based DJ, producer, radio host on Skylab Radio & Amsterdam based Radio Tempo Nao Para, and founder of the beloved Personal Space (@personalspace_____) mix series.

While her sets often take you through many different genres, one element clearly remains central: her gift for storytelling within both dancefloor and listening contexts. Montana’s musical world blends records from every era – 80s synth pop and old-school house cuts swerve seamlessly through clusters of blissed-out trip hop, breaks, new wave, balearic and delicate musical textures.

Her talent for weaving musical narratives has been recognised by local and international collectives, having already compiled mixes for Melbourne Deepcast, Planet Trip and Pacific Rhythm to name a few. Montana is an avid music collector, always searching for lost obscurities to pair alongside contemporary club cuts and gems by her friends. In support of the talented community she finds herself surrounded by, she runs a mix series Personal Space that invites friends to curate and record an extended mix from the comfort of their own home.

Doc Jay, Antal, Jamie Tiller, Tako, Pender Street Steppers, Calypso Steve, DJ Vegetable and Floating Points are all part of a growing list of artists she has supported over the years.

Elina Bry ( @elle.bry ) is a French/Finnish, Glasgow-based multidisciplinary artist. They work across video, storytelling, and live performance, and are interested in listening to and re-staging the malfunctions of the human body. They are curious about the body as a sentient arena; as a responsive tool and a protagonist of an everyday drama. Through their work, they investigate the known, model it, and collaborate with the instability of their own body. It is essential that they do not cause any harm, as they aim to challenge their body with the everyday, giving a stage to and witnessing what is already present.
