Goolugatup Invitational 2022 features the leading artists graduating from higher education in Western Australia last year. Together they represent the cutting-edge of new cultures of sculpture, video, print media, and installation. Since 2015, this annual program has provided early-career artists vital experience in a professional exhibitory context and access to wide audiences. It affords graduates an opportunity to develop their practice and beyond the constraints of the educational framework, and provides viewers insight into emerging art cultures.

This exhibition opens alongside free live music as part of our GOOLUGATUP SOUNDS music program – local ensemble RESONANT FIELDS create a vivid ambient soundworld with weaving chamber music instrumentation; before JACOB DIAMOND offers a unique, textured deconstruction of his song-set, with an exciting new ensemble in tow.

GETTING HERE – Goolugatup Heathcote is a cultural precinct located on the shores of the Derbal Yerrigan, in the suburb of Applecross, just south of the centre of Boorloo Perth, WA. It is 10 minute drive from the CBD, and ample parking is available. The closest train station is Canning Bridge, and the closest bus route the 148.
