Kieron Broadhurst
1st February - 30th April 2025
During Kieron’s residency at Goolugatup they will be developing and resolving work for Border Chronicle, their upcoming exhibition in collaboration with Ash Tower. Kieron and Ash aim to bring together their shared interests related to how the arrangement and display of object and images produces knowledge. Drawing on the display conventions and modes of arrangement familiar to community museums and enthusiast collectors, Border Chronicle explores how the alternative modes of understanding produced by these kinds of museums and collections have a subversive relationship to the more dominant, institutional museum model.
As part of the exhibition Kieron will be making a large collection of objects that are not shells, fossils, gemstones, or fishing ephemera, but which are ambiguously suspended between these points of reference. Their aim with the residency is to produce a large amount of these objects and work on their resolution and arrangement.
Kieron Broadhurst is an artist based in Boorloo (Perth), WA. Through a variety of media he investigates the speculative potential of fiction within contemporary art practice.
