Claire Kroužecký is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, producer and teaching artist. Her practice ranges from introspective works on paper to place-responsive collaborative projects. Play, observation and exchange are at the core of all her work – with a lens to creative learning, designing spaces for children and families, and community-based work. In recent years a deepened interest in early learning and supporting mothers in creative practice grew out of her experience observing her young son, and as a single mother.
In years past Claire’s work was often produced out of extended periods abroad, through residencies, projects and exhibitions in Japan, Iceland, Italy and Germany. Claire spent several years living in New York, where among other things she interned in the studio of Paul Ramirez Jonas, and was employed as Collections Manager at Picture Room. Claire received her MFA from the Tasmanian College of the Arts in 2013, and is now lucky enough to call Walyalup Noongar Boodja home.
