Join us in the gallery for a talk from Beijing Realism co-curator and artist Tami Xiang. 2pm Sunday 26 March. Tami is a Perth based Chinese-Australian artist and academic scholar. She has achieved the Masters of Fine Arts from University of Western Australia (UWA) and she is currently undertaking a PhD by research at UWA. Tami’s works are inspired by her life experience before she moved to Australia, most works are trying to raise awareness on the living condition of the weak, especially those people who are living in the countryside, such as the left-behind children, the left elderly and the migrant workers. Tami’s work has been exhibited in Australia, Mainland China, France, Taiwan and the U.S. Her work has been published on the New York Times and the Eye of Photography in France and Artlink in Australia
