Fit For People looks to the unorthodox and countercultural urban design approaches of Paul Ritter, Perth’s first urban planner, as a catalyst to interrogate the ever more homogenised aesthetic and bureaucratic mediation of urban space.

Drawing together archival documents and artists who engage with urban space through intervention, public sculpture and adaptive reuse, Fit For People draws out the libidinal and psycho-social character of the urban environment to ask whether or not these spaces are indeed still ‘fit for people’.
