Gallery Officer
Brent Harrison is an artist and independent curator based in Boorloo (Perth). In 2016 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) from Curtin University. Recent exhibitions include Gotham Gets Pickled, Holmes à Court Gallery (2021) Divine, Runway Journal (2021), Bunbury Biennale, Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (2021), looking now anyone here?, Paper Mountain (2019) and You Can’t See Rainbows Looking Down, Cool Change Contemporary (2018). He was a finalist in the City of Joondalup Invitation Art Prize (2020) and has undertaken residencies at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), Fremantle Arts Centre and Curtin University. In 2020 he curated HERE&NOW20: Perfectly Queer at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, an exhibition that examined how artists used histories and their own lived experiences to reflect on what it means to be queer. Harrison was selected to participate in the Perth Centre for Photography's Curatorial Considerations Program, Ballarat International Foto Biennale's In Focus Curator Forum and the Australia Council's Professional Development Program at the 2019 Venice Biennale. He currently works as the Hatched Curatorial Fellow at PICA.
