Penelope Forlano, a versatile designer and artist with 25 years of experience. Penelope immersed herself in crafting during her childhood, skilfully engaging in the timeless art of needlecraft handed down through her matrilineal line. Drawing inspiration from the method of constructing shapes and forms through repetitive shapes and forms, her exploration of these creative possibilities extends into her endeavours in furniture and public art. Recently delving into anodized aluminium jewellery, she filled a market gap by creating brooches for personal use, now available in limited production. Influenced by cosmic elements and Bauhaus aesthetics, her jewellery series embody bold shapes and serve as mini-sculptures, blending robust materials with metallic subtlety. Recognized with the Indo-Pacific 'Luminary' award, her diverse work has been exhibited globally, including at prestigious venues such as 100% Design in London and Salone Satellite in Milan (2004). Permanent collections feature her artworks at institutions such as the Art Gallery of WA, the Parliament of Western Australia, ECU, and the Louis Vuitton art collection.
